Delete your Notch account
Notch is an AI workout coach app developed by Sinan Güleçyüz. You can delete your Notch account and the data linked to it at any time: in the app, or by email without the app. Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone.
How to request deletion · What is deleted · What is not deleted
Before you delete: cancel Notch Pro
Deleting your account does not cancel a Notch Pro subscription. It is billed by the store you subscribed with, and that store keeps charging you until you cancel it there. Uninstalling the app does not cancel it either.
- Subscribed on iPhone: open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, go to Subscriptions, select Notch, and tap Cancel Subscription.
- Subscribed on Android: open Google Play subscriptions, select Notch, and tap Cancel subscription.
How to request deletion
In the app
Open Notch and tap the Settings icon (the gear). At the bottom of Settings, tap Delete Account, then confirm with Delete Account. If you may have a subscription, the app first asks you to confirm that you understand it keeps billing. Your account is deleted right away and you are signed out.
By email
Email sinangulecyuz@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my Notch account". Send it from the email address you use for Notch so we can match it to your account. If you signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email, say so and we will find another way to confirm it's you. We delete your account and the data listed below, and reply to confirm, within 30 days.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, these are permanently removed from Notch's database at once:
- Your account and sign-in details, including your email address
- Your profile and preferences: display name, date of birth, gender if you gave it, body weight, units, training goal and experience
- Every workout you logged: exercises, sets, reps, weights, notes and dates
- Your weekly plans
- Your AI Coach conversations and the details the coach remembered about you
- The records of your daily AI Coach usage
- The subscription event records our subscription processor, RevenueCat, sent us about your purchases
Right after that, we delete the photos you sent to the AI Coach from our photo storage, and ask our service providers to delete their copies:
- PostHog (product analytics): your analytics profile and its event history. PostHog processes deletions asynchronously, so this can take a little while.
- RevenueCat (subscriptions): your subscriber record.
What is not deleted, or is kept for a time
- Your subscription and store purchase history. Apple and Google keep their own records of your purchases, which we cannot delete. Your subscription keeps running until you cancel it in the store (see above).
- Error reports. Crash and error reports in Sentry are linked only to an internal account ID, never your name or email, and are deleted automatically within at most 90 days.
- Failed deletions. If deleting your photos, or our deletion request to PostHog or RevenueCat, fails, that copy may remain, and we keep a record of your internal account ID and the error.
- Data already sent to OpenAI. Messages and photos you sent to the AI Coach were processed by OpenAI to write replies. That copy is handled under OpenAI's API data policies, and we cannot delete it from OpenAI's systems.
- Backups and logs. Our database and hosting providers may keep routine backups and server logs that contain your data or internal account ID. They are not edited, and they expire on the providers' own schedules.
Delete some data and keep your account
You can delete a single workout in the History tab, and a coach chat, with its photos, in the Coach tab. For anything else, such as the details the coach remembers about you or your analytics data, email sinangulecyuz@gmail.com and tell us what you want deleted.
